This is
the fourth edition, 1st revsion of the Emergency! Equipment
Manifest retitled "Emergency! Equipment At Scene"
The book has been completely rewritten and contains new material
that has been discovered since the third edition was written
in 2003 . It is written using a clean layout that is easy
to read and allows for more flexibility in place page inserts.
This book outlines with descriptions and pictorial examples
the apparatus and most other motorized equipment and most
rescue and radio equipment commonly used on the television
show Emergency!'s epsiodes.
Acknowledgements
Much of this revised publication could not be done without
the assistance of Mr. Richard Yokley
who was a very valuable aid in researching background information
for much of the Los Angeles County Fire apparatus and equipment.and
with whom I shared the absolute delight of many hours figuring
out many of the discovered vehicles and equipment used on
the show that are new to this publication.
Richard together with Rozane Sutherland are authors of "Emergency!
Behind the Scenes", which is available from Fire-Police-Ems.com
.A portion of the proceeds of the sale of the book go
to the County of Los Angeles Fire Museum, the home of Squad
51. This publication servies as a companion to the book.
Special thanks to Carl Van Cott who has provided much information
regarding the Biophone, and
the Biocomm telemetry equipment. Another person who is a very
helpful source is George Ashley (retired "Repair 10")
who provided technnical information for the Crown engines
used in the show and other aspects of Los Angeles County
Fire.
